What’s the best sunscreen to wear in your 30s? Each decade brings different skin concerns, and thus, requires different product recommendations. Watch the video below to see what board-certified dermatologist Dr. Deirdre Hooper, recommends to her 31-year-old patient, Erica:

Erica came to Dr. Hooper because she’s concerned about her melasma getting darker and wants to know how to prevent it from getting worse. Dr. Hooper tells her that wearing sunscreen is an absolute must when it comes to melasma, especially one that is tinted. Dr. Hooper says she loves using the Daily Correct CC Cream SPF 35 herself and recommending it for people with melasma because of the tint. “CC Cream is almost like a foundation,” says Dr. Hooper. “It gives a nice coverage and is moisturizing.”

For reapplication, Dr. Hooper says the 100% Mineral Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45 is the way to go. “It can take away shine and continue with your protection,” she says.

On the topic of body protection, Erica says that she’s often too busy to remember to apply sunscreen on the exposed areas of her body but Dr. Hooper says sunscreen on the body is a must. “A lot of my patients in their 30s are starting to notice signs of aging, and the most important thing you can do to protect yourself to prevent aging is to wear SPF every day on your whole body,” she says.

Dr. Hooper recommends our Super Power Sunscreen Mousse SPF 50 as an easy and fast way to get SPF on your body every day. “It’s light and fluffy; you can rub it in really easily and it’s moisturizing,” she says.
