SPF Spotlight: Poof Part Powder SPF 45

scalp sunscreen

Did you know that a scalp sunscreen was our most requested product? That being said, we’re obviously thrilled to introduce you to Poof Part Powder SPF 45. Here, we tell you more about why we created it, what’s in it and how to use it.

What is Poof Part Powder SPF 45?

Poof Part Powder SPF 45 is our first scalp sunscreen. It’s broad spectrum SPF protection in powder form, and it sort of feels similar to a dry shampoo…but has the added benefit of UV protection.

Why we created a scalp sunscreen…

The skin on our scalps is just as sun-sensitive as the skin on our faces, and we all know how terribly painful and uncomfortable it is to have a sunburn there. Plus, this was our most-requested product! So we ended up creating Poof Part Powder to specifically address these things without people having to sacrifice their hair styles when using it.

We’d been working on this formula for a few years and explored countless different versions and formats, but none were able to work on all hair types and styles. It was crucial for the product to be applied to any type of hair without weighing down the roots or making it look greasy. Inspired by dry shampoos, we realized a powder delivery would be ideal for this type of hair product.

The 100% zinc oxide actives provide broad spectrum UV protection, while a blend of silica and boron nitride gently absorb excess oils. Last but not least, vitamin C provides antioxidant protection.

How do you use Poof Part Powder?

It’s simple! Pull off the cap and shake Poof. Find the spots where your scalp is visible and spray it on those areas, holding the bottle about an inch or two away from your scalp. Make sure your scalp is completely covered with powder and then blend in the powder like you would a dry shampoo.

Bonus: It works on all hair colors, including dark ones. Just watch our head of product development, Sofia, demonstrate how to use it on her darker hair…!
