Track and field runner Jasmine Blocker is a huge Supergoop! fan and we got to talk to her about how she incorporates it into her active lifestyle and in her everyday routine.
When a professional track and field athlete who could very well be on her way to representing USA in the Olympics is a fan of Supergoop!, we jump for joy. Jasmine Blocker’s list of achievements is truly amazing: In 2016, she was a ISATF Olympic Trials Competitor, in 2018, she was an Athletic World Cup 4×400 Gold Medalist and in 2019, she was an IAAF World Relays Mixed Relay Gold Medalist.
These days, she’s in Los Angeles busy training in hopes to join the team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. And when she’s out on the track, she keeps her skin protecting with Supergoop! and also relies on Supergoop! on her days off.
Here, we chat with Jasmine about how she discovered Supergoop! and how she incorporates it in her routine.

How does Supergoop! compare to other sunscreens you’ve tried?
I’ve tried countless other sunscreens and they’ve honestly all fallen short. I need something that’s water-resistant for training, mattifying for my oily skin and, most importantly, doesn’t leave a white cast on all this melanin! Supergoop! is the only sunscreen that checks all of my boxes.
How do you incorporate Supergoop! into your morning routine with your other products?
All of my skincare and makeup products play so well with Supergoop! After cleansing with Tatcha Classic Rice Polish and moisturizing with Korres Pomegranate Balancing Cream-Gel, my Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen goes on like a dream.
If I’m feeling fancy and want some extra highlight, I’ll follow up with a quick pass of the Supergoop! Glow Stick on my cheeks. Once all of that soaks in, I’m ready to apply my everyday makeup (Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Retouch Concealer and Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade) and finish everything off with the Defense Refresh Setting Spray!

What sunscreen do you wear when you’re training?
I do most of my training outdoors so sunscreen is an absolute must. We usually hit the track around noon, when the California sun is at its most blinding! I’m already wearing my Unseen Sunscreen when I get there, so before we get started, I re-apply with my Defense Refresh Setting Spray. This is super easy when I’m on-the-go and it’s water-resistant.
Why are you devoted to wearing sunscreen regularly?
I apply sunscreen every day, and I never miss. I’m honestly so vigilant because I’ve tried countless serums, masks and creams and nothing has improved my hyperpigmentation and acne scarring like sunscreen. It’s such a cost-effective solution for my skin concerns!
“It’s a pretty common misconception that people with darker skin tones don’t need sunscreen but this is so not true!”
What do you wish people — especially those of darker skin tones — knew about sunscreen?
It’s a pretty common misconception that people with darker skin tones don’t need sunscreen but this is so not true! Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial for everyone, especially if you have hyperpigmentation or acne scarring. These issues are more common for people of color and are only going to get worse if you’re not protecting your skin!
What’s your best tip for someone who is trying to incorporate sunscreen into their everyday routine?
Find one that fits seamlessly into your morning routine, whether it’s already incorporated into your moisturizer, like Superscreen, or if it’s a quick spritz on top of your make up with the Defense Refresh Setting Spray!
