If you’re looking for how to add sunscreen to a minimalist beauty routine, we’ve got you! Watch how Renee layers sunscreen in her minimal skin care routine.
Welcome to How I SPF, a series where we show you how to layer sunscreen into real morning routines. Our creative content strategist, Renee, takes a minimal approach to her morning routine. Her priorities? Sunscreen protection, brows, lashes and blush (she’ll wear lipstick when she feels like it, but she’ll always wear a lip sunscreen!).
The key to Renee’s morning routine is making sure she has the right amount of sunscreen on. And since she’s not into slathering on a big dollop (¼ of a teaspoon, to be exact) of one sunscreen product, she makes sure to get in the full amount needed by layering her sunscreen products.
She starts with the cult favorite Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50 as her moisturizer, to keep things “super dewy” and hydrated and then goes in with the Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF 37. Since she has sensitive eyes, this mineral-based SPF works wonderfully.
Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50 – “I love that it’s water- and sweat-resistant for 80 minutes and it leaves my skin super dewy and moisturized.”
Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF 37 – “It’s such a good, light daytime eye cream. There’s mica extract in the formula, so now only does it protect the delicate skin around your eyes that needs sun protection, but it helps them look more awake.”
CC Cream SPF 35 – “This is such a great product for people who need a little bit of coverage but don’t like the feeling of a heavy foundation, or even a heavy-feeling tinted moisturizer. This just offers a really good, smooth, even finish. It’s really good at blending in and covering up any blemishes.”
Mint Fusion Lip Balm SPF 30 – “The lipsticks I like to wear don’t usually have SPF in them (or the right amount) so I like to cover them with a little bit of the Mint Fusion Lip Balm. It has SPF 30. It goes on really nice and doesn’t affect my lipstick application.”
Glow Stick SPF 50 – “I use this all the time as a highlighter with SPF. It has SPF 50 so it’s a really nice sunscreen topper. The best thing is that it doesn’t affect my blush or my makeup. It leaves me super protected and glowy.”
Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 – “It’s another wonderful way to layer your SPF and keep your makeup intact at the same time.”
