Supergoop! CC Cream has been a favorite for so many since it launched when Supergoop! was in its earliest days. Discover why it was created, and why reinventing the formula was so important to our founder, Holly.
After three years in product development, I’m super excited today to introduce Supergoop! CC Screen SPF 50…our 100% super clean, non-nano mineral formula, now in 15 flexible shades and a (much!) higher SPF.
Our original CC Cream has always held a special place in my heart. Back in 2012, BB and CC creams were very popular in Asia and I could see why: they were the perfect blend of makeup and skincare. Inspired by a new way to slip SPF into the products you use every day, I developed our Supergoop! version — the first by an American brand — packed with our special blend of power-packed, clean, skin-loving ingredients.
I’ve loved watching our CC Cream develop such a following and help us on our mission to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen. But I’ve also (as usual!) never been completely satisfied, and three years ago we started a checklist of what we knew we could do better. First and foremost, an expanded shade range that would make it more accessible to a broader range of skin tones, as well as further updates to our super clean ingredient list, and lastly, a higher SPF so that we could feel really great about the protection we were offering. We also wanted to do all this in a 100% non-nano mineral formula and without compromising the amazing texture, feel and payoff our original CC was known for. The bar was set high to redefine what a CC Cream is, and now after countless rounds of tweaking, we are excited to introduce you to CC Screen SPF 50.
