At Supergoop!, we have a philosophy of “No Compromises.” That means we’re committed to making great products that are good for people and planet.
After more than a year of social distancing and staying at home, I think we’re all starting to appreciate the great outdoors a little bit more. Since last March, I’ve taken every opportunity to get outside, even if it’s just taking a walk in my neighborhood or a nearby park. And all this exploring has helped me, and maybe you too, reconnect with nature in a meaningful way.
Here at Supergoop!, we’ve always had a great appreciation for our planet. That’s why our products are reef-friendly, cruelty-free and made with clean ingredients — and that’s also why I chose a LEED-certified development for our first office space! But this year, we’re challenging ourselves to do even more.
I always say what matters most is the 5 “P’s”: Product, passion, purpose, people and our planet!
For months, the Supergoop! team has been seeking out new ways to greenify our goods from production to packaging. So far, we’ve been able to transition all secondary packaging (the cartons that our products come in) to recyclable, FSC-certified stocks. We’ve also replaced all bubble wrap with recyclable PCW paper, so now our shipping boxes and packing contents are 100% recyclable.
I’m really proud of how quickly we worked to make these changes, and even more proud that our teams are constantly identifying new ways to operate a little greener, whether it’s how we mail items to our partners or what ink we choose when printing on our boxes. But we aren’t stopping with these quick wins. Later this year, we’ll be rolling out a comprehensive plan for Supergoop!’s sustainability initiatives in 2022 and beyond, including company-wide goals and projects for the future. I’m super excited about what we have planned, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
In the meantime, we’ll remain committed to continuing our existing practices, like making sure all of our products are made with clean ingredients, producing vegan, reef-friendly formulas*, never testing on animals and holding ourselves to the highest cruelty-free standards, in addition to the measures we’ve taken in packaging and shipping.
In honor of Earth Day, I hope you’ll join me and the entire Supergoop! family in taking a moment to pause and consider what small steps we can take in our own lives to help preserve our planet. And then, if you’re able, let’s all get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer. (Just don’t forget your SPF!)
